Sorry if this is in the wrong section. I just got a alkalinity test kit from Salifert. My question is it says to draw the KH regent into the 1ml syringe until the black part of the piston hits the 1ml mark. It says there will be air in the syringe but I'm not sure if I'm pulling in the right amount of the KH regent. I've attached a picture of where I thought it was supposed to be. Am I doing this right? Sorry if I'm not explaining this well, and let me know if I can elaborate at all. Thanks in advance.

I just bought a new salifert alkalinity test and the directions are different. The new directions say to only add 2 drops from the small bottle, (1 for low resolution)....the last box I had said to add 4 drops to your water and 2 drops for low resolution. Anyone else notice that?

I went to google because I saw the same thing. TBH I liked the 4 drops better because the color was deeper. But on the 4 drop kit I would take the value right before it turned solid pink because I tested it using a know alk value solution. I no longer have that solution so my readings may be off by .5 or so with out a good comparison.

Look at which part of the plunger lines up with the 0 line if the plunger is pushed all the way in. That's the reference of what to look at

In my case it's the very end, if yours is different, them the labeling on your syringe is off, but I'd still use the part that lines up with 0 on your syringe

In any case, it doesn't really matter as long as you do it the same way all the time, you'll just be off byaa fixed amount all the time, if you are not right off the edge of the healthy range, that should be fine.
