I bought the Salifert Mag test and I either have over 1500 ppm or O ppm. I have been dosing too so I doubt I have 0. Before I start to put in the last solution my vial is a pink/ purple color. It does not change color it slightly darkens the very last drop, but like I said I have been dosing. Is there a forumla to figure out above 1500 ppm ie instead of using 2ml test water use 4ml ....

My plan now is to stop dosing for awhile and retest in a week.

I think there is directions on the sheet for over 1500 ppm.

I've been questioning the results on my kit, I haven't been dosing and it always consume the entire ml of reagent. In the past I've always have to dose Mg so I'm not sure what the deal is. I need another kit to verify.

I may just be stupid..! (I know I am was dosing wrong part of two part and was like why is my Cal 600 and my ALk droping) I just looked back over instruction sheet. The Table does that represent the amount used or whats left in the syringe?

The tables refers to what mark the bottom of the plunger is on. I don't have the table in front of me but say you've used most of the syringe and the marker is at say .1 (1/10th of the total). Then you Mg is 1350 or whatever it says.

Meaning, the more you have left in the syringe the lower your Mg is.

When I first got my salifert test kit my mag was also above 1500ppm. All I did was add more reagent to the dropper and continued the test. Whatever my reading from the second dropper full was, was added to the 1500ppm to get my actual levels.
