Salinity and corals

i keep a rock-solid 1.026 thanks to my auto-top-off
i happen to know a couple wholesalers in LA use lower salinity, closer to 1.019, it helps to keep ich at bay. the LFS usually acclimates to a higher salinity for us. doesnt hurt to test the water your new fish and corals come to you in, then acclimate accordingly.

All the LFS around here are running about .02. But like frugner said i always test the water of my new acquisition to judge how long to drip it for.

What about slightly elevated salinity levels?

What is the question exactly?

Corals certainly do fine at 35-36 ppt, where much of the worlds ocean exist, and that has a sg range of 1.0264 to 1.0271.

No question in particular Randy. Just seen the thread and was curious what people have noticed at slightly higher ranges. 1.027-1.030 or so. On my last ICP mine was 1.027 so I am keeping an eye on it, but was curious in general about higher ranges.
