Sandsifter star needs your help

Hello all...i just got a sandsifter star yesterday and it appears to be I'll. I dont know if something got to it or if is deteriorating in front of my eyes. I have a 30 gallon tank that's about 2 years old. I currently have another sandsifter and a blue damsel two bangii Cardinals a six line warsse a dwarf fuzzy lion fish. I just check my water yesterday and these were my results
Ph-8.2
Ammo-0
Nitrite-0
Nitrate-5.0 (I've been bringing it down)
Phosphate-0
Calcium-340
S.G-1.025

They do that when they are dying (usually from starving). They start falling apart and loosing limbs or get holes in the center. Sand sifter stars don't often do well in aquariums because we can't provide the diet they need in a small space.

That is what appears to be happening to mine...is has like a gash sort of between two of its arms...but i just got it and acclimated it for two hours yesterday...i made sure the water parameters were the same..what should I do? Should I take him out and put him in a separate bucket with flow and basically qt him?

I haven't seen one bounce back after starting to fall apart. Putting him in a bucket isn't going to help. If you have some small frozen food like cyclopeeze or mysis maybe try to bury a small amount in the sand near it to try to feed it. I wouldn't use much in case it doesn't eat it you don't want it rotting in your sand bed.

Ok i will try that..it it doesnt seem to be helping when should I pull it out? So it probably wants going good before I bought it right? I didn't make this happen???

It was likely already on it's way out unless it was handled poorly during purchase and transport.
