Second tank arrived from mr Aqua. First one came cracked in the corner and now the second one arrived with a foot long scratch but also with two deeper areas as marked in photos. Not sure who is packaging them but this is definitely disappointing.

Is this of any concern?

could turn into a crack?

I would not accept to buy a new car with scratches. This is no different. You paid full price, they need to step up their game. This is beyond disappointing.

totally agree and definitely will make sure they hear about it. However I was just curious if this tank can still be used or no?

Yeah I would not be accepting that for a tank it’s supposed to be something to look at and enjoy and that scratch will not be good for that and honestly looking at the 2 deep parts you have circled I would definitely
Be concerned with it cracking over time

Sry to hear. Is this acrylic or glass? Acry scratches easier but also more flexible so less concerned but if glass the I wouldn't want to risk it bc based on the distance from the corner and bottom it will be subject to a large amount of load bearing. Looks like you have carpet too? I wouldn't want to risk a crack turning into flood.

It’s glass and yeah I’m not going to risk it. But I’m just so annoyed that this is 2nd tank coming in with damage. Week 2 and now I’ll have to wait again.

Will it break? Just take a tiny ball-peen hammer and tap rhythmically on the opposite side of that scratch and it will slowly open up that scratch until it spreads through the pane to the opposite side. It's really cool, that is actually a method for cutting glass, they score and break it. For non-linear cuts tapping directly on the opposite side encourages the fracture to follow the score mark.

I'd have tapped on it first before I posted pictures here :p

I would not accept that tank. Also it looks like very thin glass? I would get a tank from a different manufacturer
