Tangs would eat that like candy
Yeah. I just choose a sailfin tang to clean up a new tank. He's in hog heaven but he can't quite keep up. I might have to get him an urchin to help. My urchins in the other tanks scrape lots of coraline but don't discriminate. They leave a clean path as they travel. Good luck with it. You'll find a predator for your algea.

People, he says he has a nano tank. I think we all agree that a tang is not advisable!
I say try your best then to remove as much manually or treat rocks with hydrogen peroxide.

Speaking in general. Having 18 tangs, I would know this
Answer is peroxide at the base with pumps off

Given! But doesn’t help OP and doesn’t answer his question! Just saying!
Post #4 stated tangs and rabbitfish- Generalized. It was already concluded that urchin is best bet which I agree upon.
In a RS max nano, at 18" x 18" she sure could place a small biota yellow tang, kole tang or tomini tang in it safely as long as property water quality and diet are maintained. Tank well cycled at over a year

She :)

And yes, Max Nano 20g I consider fully stocked w/no plans for upgrade for another year or two, so no tangs. It’s 18x18 but that includes the back sump — display is 16.5g

I like the urchin and am not sad I got it. It has eaten some ulva, it just seems to really like coralline best, just my luck lol

How big is the urchin?

It's a tiny baby little guy lol -- one of the ORA captive bred ones. And it's very brand new to the tank, so I'm thinking it's not quite been enough time to know for sure what will happen as time goes on TBH.

As he grows his appetite will also. I'm sure he'll be a favorite.
