Seeding dry rock

Pest will eventually come if you don’t QT. Dipping chemicals takes several treatments in addition to qt. Even the crabs and snails will be carriers. The necessary evils inherent in our life choice.

Check out Algea Barn products. Great way to boot the system with bacteria and the microbes to feed on nutrients and convert to coral feed. Im 18 months in to my 300g and still need to ammend populations to diversify populations to control ULNS. Read PNS PRO and Ocean Magic Phyto

Following this thread as it appears there has been a huge spike in dinoflagellate problems since dry rock has taken off. I suspect seeding dry rock with as many different bacteria and plankton and so forth as possible to keep biodiversity high, and keeping nutrients above zero, is the way to go.

Curious though if any other ideas out there!

I wish a company like kp or tbs would offer a seeder pack. A couple lbs of rock ina bit of water. Shipped during temperate times of the year so it wouldn’t cost the earth. I’d pay for that in a heartbeat. I just don’t have the cheddar for good live rock.

Do all here agree that virtually no pests would be able to pass through 100 micron filter. I've considered buying some live rock running turbulent water through it and filtering that water into the tube with dead rock to seed it, wouldnt that get me many of the diverse bacteria I am looking for.

I'm sure there are threads but I cant find many where people discuss different off the cuff ideas on how one could possibly bring dead rock to life. What else can you guys think off that would bring diversity without the pests?
