I understand my parameters aren’t ideal… I have a 3 head doser, I am reaching out for IMMEDIATE assistance/ guidance. Below is a pic of a couple of my (higher end) acan frags that aren’t doing well. What I need is suggestions on what and how much to start dosing daily PLEASE.
(kind words only. Please…. I’m a softy!)
Thank you in advance for any advice.

i suggest using Red Sea trace elements to get your numbers back up to where they need to be. the dosing instructions are very clear. but first impressions of your numbers that your big 3 (Ca, Alk, Mag) are a tad low. the ammonia is a bit elevated but not alarming. pH is decent. maybe aim to get to 8-1-8.5.

edit: your handwriting is so neat!!!!

when did you do your water change last? Agree you need to get your numbers up. Your nitrates are high
Last water change was about 3 weeks ago.
should I focus on Alk 1st?
I currently run my skimmer 24 hrs, what would you recommend that be.

i would run your skimmer 24 hrs on the wet side, this will help get nitrates down.

definitely focus on Alk first. but all 3 meeting the standard is more important in the long run.

Do you feel that’s what is effecting the acans the most? I have multiple hammers, Zoe’s, alevapora and goniopora (my clowns are hosting in the pic lol) and all seem to be fine, it’s just my acans.
thank you again

Nothing except your alk really stand out to me as being especially worrisome. Would definetely focus on that.

I would suggest ammonia is irrelevant and probably test issue assuming you have not had some large die off recently.

Calc and mg can come up some but certainly not at a level that would be harming anything.

Nitrates are a bit high but again not something i think is harming your acans and many amazing tanks can run at levels much higher than that.

How much light are your acans getting they can look like that if it is too much?

i have no experience with acans. but as your parameters stand, it could be many factors. the big 3 are definitely more important that the nitrate.

Ok. Yes this is a 50 gal tank with 2 reef led 90’s and recently inc. the intensity. They sit in the lower 1/3 of the tank. (I don’t have a par meter :(

I second getting ALK up to at least 7 dKH. Just make sure you do it slowly and not all at once.

I'm not sure this is the reason for the acans receding though. If possible, I would lower them away from the light and see how they respond.

Sadly i dont know much about those lights and how much that would be. I would suggest lowering them to lower light though. I grow tons of acans anywhere from 50 to 200 par, but usually around 100-150. Much more than that and many seem to shrivel up especially if not increased gradually

Ok I will try that! Thank you

Do any changes gradually to avoid shock to the tank.
Some targets are :

Temp 77-79
ph 8.1-8.3
salinity 1.025
nitrate < .5
phos < .04
Ammonia < .03
mG 1300
Alk 8-11
CA 440

Anything that's fleshy has a TON to do with the quality of your water. Any TDS at all can cause fleshy corals to deflate.

Start there....
