Shark tank complete

Have your sharks never picked off tank mates?
My shark has picked off one tank mate I believe. The shark was the last fish I added to my tank and the fist fish I added was a Melanurus thinking he will be able to effectively hide.... Well after having him for over a year and then adding the shark, he disappeared in a week..... now is it the shark? im not sure because the sand sifting goby is still alive and frequently sits by the shark but the timing lines up

Beautiful shark I hope some day i can have a shark.

As far as tank size no matter what you always want bigger.

I wanted a 96Lx30Wx24H (approx 350 gallon)

Lucked out and found a 120Lx36Wx30H (approx 600 gallon)

But to me now a 10x3 foot tank is too small and a 12x4 foot tank would be perfect.

The thing about an 8x8 is even for a largish house it seems impossible. My house is 5k SQ feet with a large double door entry.

How do you get an 8 foot tank through my 7 foot wide double door entry...how do you get it past the 5 foot wide bar to wall opening ...or too any room???

Took 6 guys to get the 10x3 foot tank in..an 8x8....atleast 10 guys needed...

Atleaste a 7k SQ foot mansion with 8.5 feet entry points somewhere.

Ofcourse it could be custom built inside...

But what price point..20-40k usd????

To me it just seems unrealistic...

A 12x4 could be put in an house 3500 SQ ft or bigger.

It may take up a 3rd of your living room but not the whole room like an 8x8.

dangit..

Now I'm dreaming about an 12x4 lolololol. Thanks

dang...well...

He ate 2 banana wrase....

3 clown fish..

5 cheap blue fish...forget name.

3 blue hippo tang....

1 Fox face....

1 pink something. Forget the name.

1 yellow tang imposter. Forget name.

Approx $1,000 worth of shark food.

One day you see them..another day they are gone.

At first I was feeding every 4 days..

Now it's every 2-3 days.

Snow flake eel, clown fish and cheap blue fish been fine with him many months now

Had the same issue. My sharks have eaten more than that all together. Clownfish will never work, they are too small/slow, unless you can find a large tomato/maroon clown, but those are mean. As for all of the others you will need to buy larger specimens at least 6" or larger already. Will cost more but they will survive. 10' x 3' is actually only 30 sq ft of swim space which a fully grown shark can easily eliminate any prey that is in there. You can also add more hiding spaces which can give fish a better chance of survival. I would be careful with foxfaces as they are venomous and your shark likely caught a taste of that when he ate the foxface.
