So im shipping up north to a couple people, where the weather is horrendous. So the palys will be going from miami to like Vancouver overnight USPS.

Should i do the paper towel technique or just double bag??

Anyone have any experience with these techniques but in extreme weather?

I lived in alaska for a while and i always triple bagged my frags with the opening inverted to each other.

Besides its like 40 in Vancouver right now... it was raining during the Mens 10k Biatholon... lol

I would recommend knowing Import/Export Laws for Live Animals before shipping to Canada. I do not think you were allowed unless you were a business entity.

My packaging is boxes with styrofoam/gel insulation for keeping thing frozen, but instead will insulate constant temp with heat packs. But im not sure to double bag or do the paper towel technique im seeing on R2R.

If you have room, I would rubber band the frag to a small chunk of styrofoam so that it floats upside down in the water at all times. I would double or triple bag, and use a heat pack of course.

Oh yea ive seen that one too. So i guess im sticking to double bagging. You guys know where i can get the heatpacks?

I usually get 24 hour+ heatpacks from Dick's sporting goods... Idk if you have those by you or if they're just a chicagoland store but that's the only place I've ever seen 24+ hour ones besides online.

Know its not what you're looking for, but there are some online sources that sell a 40 hour heat pack. For long shipping distances, thats what I would recommend. That way if the shipper screws up and it takes two days, or even if its a full 24 hours or more, you as the shipper are a little more protected and hopefully don't have to reship corals. Bought a slug of them here a while back, wish I could remember who from, but can't find my source.

Edit: found it google TB Aquatics, and look under shipping supplies. I'm sure that some of the sponsors here also have them
