He's been in qt for 3 weeks now, I was concerned for a while and now the last week he has come into his own. He's eating with gusto and out and very social, even swimming around my hand and in my face showing off. He looks like he been nibbled on a bit on the anal fins; looks like teeth marks vs something bacterial, clean irregular lines with no discolorations. These photoes are on his back fin, do you think it could be a nibble that has dead tissue that didn't slough off. I don't think it's gotten any bigger, does anyone have a clue as to whgat it might be. Should I just watch it and let it be if it doesn't get bigger.

I assume he's in a QT with other fish? The question is what are the others and would they be aggressive enough to bite this fish. What kind of fish is this? Angel?

He's alone, it's how he came in. It's a goldflake angel.

See? Now I feel stupid. I'm looking at it now and thinking "Of course it's a goldflake angel!" lol Ah well. Back on topic.... I think you should watch it carefully. Be ready with antibiotics to treat at a moments notice. If it gets infected, it can move very quickly so be ready.

Yeah I've got a problem. Last night I saw what I thought could have been a stringy worm. It was floating in the water column, I couldn't tell if it was actually wiggling or just moving in the current. Tonight when i got home he was swimming with his head down, rather than immediately bouncing up to the top and begging for food. He didn't seem interested in eating, in a certain light his body about 2/3 back behind what I would think is his stomach seems to be sunken in somewhat. My lfs on my way home didn't have metroplex, but I know one that does carry it. I'm very discouraged, Id say it's almost impossible to get a healthy fish at all these days. I've got 24 fish and more than 1/2 of them had to be treated for one malady or another.

So I can see the white stinky poo clearly now, he seems to be bloated maybe backed up. He had been eating with gusto until tonight, but I'm sure it's because he can't poop. I'm planning a kanaplex/metroplex mix in the water tomorrow, I hope I'm not too late. I've never been confident mixing it in the food, and if he's not eating?. I fattened him up pretty good over the last week, so hopefully he's be strong enough to make it through treatment.

Unfortunately, metro is minimally effective on internal parasites if dosed into the water. Just not enough of the medication reaches the gut, where the little jerks live, unless it is food soaked.

Dead.. came in at sg 1.014 to suppress all the parasites...thanks NYAquatics.
