Single Vortech MP10 progam.

Am I the only one that uses a single vortch?! Ha! Ecotech's calculator said that 2 would be too much for my tank, even at low speeds. It seems that most of the modes and programming options are pointless without linking master and slave pumps. No guidance I tell ya.

Anywho, It's in a JBJ 45 and maxes at 50%. Reefcrest during the day and constant speed at night. I just feel I'm under utilizing it. How does everyone gauge their flow and flow patterns? Is it just a make an adjustment and watch the coral for a few days, analyze and repeat? I don't have much, only a few Zoa polyps, couple mushrooms and a small hammer coral that was added yesterday, currently residing on the sandbad. I'd like to kick up the flow to kick some muck up to the surface since my skimmer hasn't been pulling much lately.

Do you think 2 pumps running at 25% is equal to 1 at 50%, or does the increased efficiency increase flow exponentially?

What I am trying to do is create different flow patterns coming from different directions. This keeps the water moving around in the tank and keeps items stirred up. Have to make sure frags are securely mounted or they will move do to the flow from the short pulse at night.

Can't comment on the tank, but my pump config's look like this
10pm-5am low speed constant(pumps in sync)
5-630 nutrient transport (anti-sync)
630-noon reefcrest (sync)
noon-5pm lagoon(sync)
5-630pm nutrient transport(sync)
630-10 lagoon(sync)

Can you only set the different times using a reef link or apex?
I have a single mp10 in a 50 cube without a controller. What are my best options?

I wanna say you can do it all via the usb cable and Ecosmart Configuration Utility? Might have to request it from customer service.. That was long ago for me..

From reading the manual again there is no USB plug on the controller. Only way to schedule different modes is thru the reeflink or I guess Apex don't have one of those.
