Just started cycling my new tank. 90 gal tank with 35gal sump. Looking for a quiet skimmer capable of handling the system well as it grows.

The decision for a slimmer should be based on multiple factors: budget, intended livestock, space in the sump with planned equipment (reactors, other pumps, heathers) and planned growth
There are several skimmers in the market that are “silent”. I have personally used a Nyos 120 and now I have a Reef Octo 150 INT. Both quiet. Both easy to regulate. If I have to choose I’ll go for the latter.

+1 for reef octo elite
Dc pump, more quiet than ac.
Dc pump variable speed so somewhat future proof.
Can do ozone.
Low bioload today, pump speed 3 of 5
Higher load later, increase to 4 or 5.
Has shut off for skimmer full, if interesting.

Tunze 9410 DC is my vote.
Its quiet and has the easiest cup to clean.
It is also as set and forget as they come.
A very underrated and overlooked skimmer imo.
I have one on my 120 and 45 frag/lagoon system.

We have the Skimz SM167 on our 220g. I would highly recommend this brand. Less expensive, well made & works great!

as others have said, it really depends on what you’re planning on for livestock as well as how you want to manage nutrient export with your system. BRS has some good info, check these out, maybe they can help:
