I cannot seem to find the video now, but I recall the BRS360 skimmer was undersized due to the filter roller.

I have a Red Sea 900 3XL (heavy bioload) with a Clarisea SK-5000. I need a skimmer that will fit in an 11x17 area, and I’m considering a Reef Octopus Elite SSS. Due the filter roller, should I go with the Elite 150SSS or the Elite 200SSS?

While I do agree with under-sizing a skimmer in this case, the 150 is very small for the water volume of your system. Given the two options here and taking the space constraints into consideration, the 200SSS is going to be a better choice for you. The footprint on the Elite 200SSS is listed at 10" x 12.8", so it'll fit nicely into your 11" x 17" skimmer area.

Thanks for the response. Do you have any other skimmer recommendations for something that would fit into the 11"x17" skimmer area?

You could always consider saving a few bucks and going with the Regal 200SSS over the Elite, but I think you're on the right track given your tank's size and space constraints.
