Soft whitish tubes

I have been battling GHA over the past month. I just got it under control, so I can see the rocks again. Now I see these little soft white colored tubes everywhere.

I’ve brushed the rocks with a toothbrush and they will come off but right back.

my nutrients are a little high since I removed all chemical filtration and my skimmer has been off for the last week.

Zoomed in a little. Some are grouped together, others are by themselves. First noticed in sand, then on rocks. Don’t really see them on the sand anymore. 1/4” in length. No circular pattern, just soft tubes all over.

Here is another rock. Still has a little GHA and diatoms on it. I see nothing coming out of them. No feathers. Looks almost translucent.

I did see a picture this morning of a green sponge the had similar syphon…but it had a body to it. I had dismissed the sponge as these just seem to be a syphon growing by themselves. I’ll see if I can find more images of sponges to compare.
