I have a small frag of Nightmares. had them around 3 month's and not
one new polyp. All my other zos our doing good.
all my perimeters or good and i have them about 1/2 way up
under 175 watt MH id say medium light.
Is this normal i usual get a new polyp with in 30 days on most zo frags

give it time. nightmares, darthmauls, etc. can be finicky in that way. you should eventually see growth

jerry, do you have any pics of them... recently, mine have stopped growing as well... for me, it's probably because they have been stressed and still acclimating to the new tank... if they are open, plump, and happy, they should start producing babies soon... sometimes, it just takes them a while to get acclimated to their new environment... good luck... :)

Mine stopped growing too and I lost a couple of polyps, but all the other polyps still look good. I've noticed several weird coincidental coral issues lately that are common among reefers. A bunch of people lost most/all of their M. digitata around here this spring. Makes me wonder if it's something coming through in the tap water that RO doesn't pull out.

Marvin no pic my cheap cam wont take pics you can see of a 2 polyp frag LOL.

And yes i steal have hope. i received a 1 polyp frag of gobstoppers
the week after and it has 3 BB already

awesome on the GS... again, good luck with your Nightmares... they are one of my favorites as well... :)

It seems to vary so much from one person's tank to another. Nightmares grow like a weed for me, much like mohawks. I don't do anything special. They just seem to have found their "happy place" in my tank.

Robin
very nice Robin... same experience here... they are pretty fast growers once they find their spot... but for mine, they are still adjusting... hopefully, they go back to their old self soon... ;)

I started with a single polyp maybe 3 months ago, now I have 10+

These are one of my best growers in my tank, I don't do anything special.

I have found that with some of the corals in my tank - some grow killer for no apparent reason, and others painfully slow. The tank is still relatively young, so I'll know more as time goes on.
My nightmares grow like weeds though. Which I LOVE since they are one of my favorite zoanthids. I not much for small polyp zoo's, but these are definetely cool.

What area you from?

I also started out with two polyps about two months ago and I have five pretty mature looking ones with two babies poking out now! I'm really happy that something so cool looking actually is pleased with my tank!
