I have a white tipped leather--not sure if it has another name.. When I got it, it had a smaller second one beside it. It looks like they are joining. Can they be separated at this point? Are they joined or just touching. not sure how they work. I'd like to take the larger one and move it to my 125 and leave the smaller one in the 66g

The larger one is growing into the cloves

They could attach themselves. If you want them to be separate, then just take a clean knife (razor) or scissors and cut the joined part. To prevent them from re-joining again, put a rock between the stalks or separate them entirely and place them far enough apart so they can't touch...
