Sps 911

I’ve been in the hobby for 20 years but haven’t taken it this level before, but in my defense, I never suggested or joked about not testing, or over feeding, or monitoring. My initial post was meant to contradict the acro know it alls that blame sps struggles on elevated no3/po4 levels. I never claimed I don’t test. I just don’t test and freak out and start changing my methodology.
Agreed 100%. No need for defences or anything. As I said, I am here seeking to learn from people like you..no joke..
I have been in the hobby for 13 years.
First 6 years no controller and much less testing.
Am bit techy so I chased equipments and automations
Before that i ran successful reefs with higher nutrients levels and now i also run successful reefs with low nutrients level.
Both styles have their pros and cons.
So I compelty understand where you coming from.
Controllers and complicated tastings are not the only way for success neither are they prerequisites ad long ad you know how to achieve the balance you need.

Kudos again.

This is a fun conversion. Ok, I figured out what I was trying to say. I’m a little slow sometimes. What if I started a new thread with all the those initial test results and pics and asked “Help me, my acros are not colorful enough and they’re not growing fast enough”? What would of been in the first 5 replies?

You and I differ in some aspects, but align with others: KISS method, not running apex (anymore), not worrying too much about certain numbers, and realistically the simpler the system, it seems to work so much better. However, you are doing more WC than me. Keep it up brotha.
I’m trying.

I have a huge problem going on with my acros. First of all let me tell you a little about my system. It’s a 50 gallon cube sps dominant/ mixed reef combo. I know that’s a huge a red flag but hopefully there’s another culprit for my problem. My second possible issue is that I only use LED Hydra 52 hds with more red and green than recommended. I know T5 supplement is the gold standard but that just won’t look right and my wife would never agree to huge bulky fixture. Now I don’t have an apex and have no idea what my pH is or ORP, so maybe I should look into that. I also don’t ever carbon dose or use gfo and only skim for 12 hours with a crappy undersized skimmer, so maybe that’s why I have a little green hair algae but that’s not the problem. Here are some pics of my latest tests.

No3 is around 20 -25
And I have no idea what my Mag is as my test ran out 6 months ago.
Here are some pics of the acros

Do y’all see the issue?
They seem too colorful, they’re growing too fast and the polyps seem to be sticking out too far. Is there anything I can do to resolve this issue? I’m really freaking out.
