I have a 90 gallon tank with a Eshopp R200 sump (Reef Oct 150 and Eheim 3000 return pump). It seems like I have to turn down the eheim return pump quite a bit in order to reduce the drain flow -to reduce noise? Are there any issues with having the eheim pump turned all the way down? When I do this it reduces the noise factor on the drain. I have a simple 1 drain and 1 return set up. I have plenty of flow with my wavemakers in the tank, so probably don't need to worry about the flow in the tank. Thoughts on any issues with this type of design set up?

Return pumps from sumps shouldn't be used as flow in the tank, they are just there to return water, so yes, you can turn it down, as long as your overflow is matched to the pumps return, your in good shape.
