Got the ok to upgrade and I am taking a room in the basement as my sump room the room is 10x10 looking to get some ideas on how to set the room up let see your sump room

I would like to see these as well.

I have roughly an 6' x 11'. I'm actually in the process of redoing it so I'll post some before and after pics. Its hard to get some quality pics because of the size of the room.

Lucky! I will be looking forward to seeing these pics too. I know if I were to build one I would want:

- Adjustable shelving everywhere. There is never enough space for phyto/rotifer/artemia cultures, supply and equipment storage, dosing pumps, monitoring
systems, and on the list goes.
- A mini fridge with a freezer so I didn't have to keep fighting battles with the family over phyto, aminos and frozen mysis communing with the groceries.
- A big counter with a two section sink on one end. Because I'm always needing somewhere to soak/wash/spray something off. Actually on that line of
thinking, a sealed floor with a floor drain and a hose bib may not be a bad idea. Expensive, but it would be nice.
- The RO/DI system and saltwater mixing/holding container elevated over the sump with a spout on the bottom so I could just open the spout when I was
ready to add freshly mixed water rather than having to haul buckets or deal with pumps.

Another thing you might want to do is seal the room just in case of leaks. I took the 4" sticky trim from Menards and siliconed to the floor for a nice 4" dam. (Tarkett Vinyl Quick Stik Self Adhesive Covebase EZ-TRIM 4" x 20' x .080 at Menards) You will still have water seaping out the door should you lose a huge amount of water. If you're lucky the room will be slightly pitched away from the door.

If you have it in an unfinished basement then it doesn't matter.

I do know that after you have a sump room you cant imagine it any other way.

Here you go.....probably one of the best moves I made was creating a basement/maintenance room. The hobby is now a joy compared to what I had under my stand and in my adjacent closet......

Nice setup turfster26. I know what you're saying about making the hobby a joy. It makes everything from water changes to adding a piece of equipment easier.
