Setting up a 150g tall tank and have a 40B sump setup. Built my stand and did not plan for the lack of overhead space in the sump area. Dumb!
I can get the skimmer in no problem if I put it in the same time as the sump setup. But the body would be extremely tough (Not impossible though) to get in and out once everything is up and running. How much am I going to hate this? Will the skimmer body need much moving aside from replacement, failure, etc? This is my first big tank/sump setup.
I also have a 20g L I could turn into a sump but I feel I would lose most, of not all of the planned fuge, and the extra water volume/fuge would help in the 40B. I’ve also already got the baffle kit ready to setup for the 40B
