I just wonder why more fish stores don’t carry other pet supplies. I would think it would be a good extra source of revenue if you could get your dog food as well as fish food as the same store.

I know many carry reptile food but I never seen dog or cat stuff.

My LFS is more of a pet store, think small version of petco, small furries, small scalys, spiders, fresh and saltwater. It has been around in two different locations for over 20 years and has survived being close to two chain pet stores. It is a nice store to visit and buy fish from, but there is a different staff now since it was sold a few years ago. My LFS is also an hour away.

I needed a couple of pet carriers this week. I bought them online from chewy, they were shipped out by the afternoon and I got them the next day. I can do the same for fish supplies, if the LFS doesn't have the product I use, which is most everything except for salt, I buy online.

My lfs carries dog and cat suppless. They also carry small pets like ferrets and lizards. They also have the ability to order snakes and spiders.

I have a local fish store who used to carry dog and cat stuff and apparently for this store it just didn't sell, people simply didn't go to an aquarium store to buy dog and cat food.
