That was our first swap and all I can say is wow!! We came home and now we are broke! lol but it was all worth it! We have started saving money for the next one! We loved it! Thanks Tammy and Jason for letting us know about it!! Keep us updated on when the next one will be!

I wonder who is going to have one next, Montgomery or Birmingham? Last year there was one in Nashville in January, B'ham in March, Knoxville in June or July, Chattanooga in August, and Memphis in September. I recall Montgomery had one early in the year... Rumor has it that Knoxville may not have one this year.

We'll be discussing that soon on the Montgomery side. Last year, there were a ton of them. MTRC-Jan, MRC-April, BARF-June, ETRC-June, Chatt-Aug, Memphis-Sept. I think we could see some combination swaps in the future to reduce the overall drag on hobbyists. Attendance has been down at all swaps over the last year. The economy is generally to blame, but the number of swaps in short time frames is also likely part of the problem.

Last year's MTRC swap was the biggest I've been to in the region (I swear there were more than 500 people last year). This year was a good bit smaller, but we had a great time. I came home witha couple of hundred dollars in my pocket and some nice frags. Norman asked me is it was worth the trip... It'll always be worth the trip even if just to see everyone again.

Gary and I had talked about the Montgomery swap and the Bham swap just combined.. I went to the MRC swap and it was great and the bham swap we put on was ok .. So my thought would be to get the BARFS , NARKS, and MRC to have one big swap at a central location...

I haven't really mentioned it to too many other people, but it is an idea that has been flaoting around for years. Chattanooga and Knoxville had a combined swap at one point. I think logistical issues cause issues (trying to do things remotely and the remote club being able to participate as much, etc.), but knowing there are issues going in, we may be better prepared to troubleshoot them. We'll have new club management tomorrow, so I've been waiting until it is all official to see which direction they want to tak the club (I'm a lazy SOB these days). Always good to breathe in some new life.
