I have drilled tanks with a stand pipe in each tank. Stand pipe is located about half way up the front glass and it extends to the surface. My idea is to tilt the standpipe horizontally for water changes and then tilt it back up vertically when I refill so I don't over-spill the tank. It all drains to the outside. I am concerned about the longevity of the standpipe connection to the bulkhead, on the inside, with all the vertical to horizontal and then back to vertical. Is there a better connection than just PVC threads which is what I have now? What do people do for a similar arrangement. I plan to use either blue Teflon tape on the threads or maybe the liquid white Teflon paste. No, I don't want to redo the whole thing completely. I have 24 tanks drilled that way now. Thanks in advance.
