Hi everyone.
Iv been keeping tropical fish for many years now and have gone through all different types of setups community tank, bio types also had a stage when I got really into plants and aquascaping and I'm now currently keeping cichlids but iv always been attracted to the corals in the salty side of the hobby, iv been reading and watching Reef tanks over the years and contemplated making the switch many times but never actually have but this time I am finally going to do it.

I will be taking my time with this new build to gather equipment and information over the next few months

I plan on using my current tank that is a rimless optiwhite 80cm x 40cm 140 litre tank.
I already have a tunze comline 9001 skimmer, a jebao wavemaker and ai prime led light.

I will be running the tank sumpless as my cabinet is unable to accommodate a sump
So I'm thinking of using either a seachem tidal hob filter or possibly the tunze comline internal filter that matches the skimmer, filter would be used for mechinal and chemical filtration.
And for biological filtration I'm looking at around 20kg of live rock and a 2inch sand bed.
My main focus on this tank will be corals apposed to fish maybe just a pair of clowns and some inverts
Thank you for listening to me waffle on any input and advice to steer me in the right direction would be much appreciated.

Nice writing

I used a Tunze Comline on my 40g reef and it pulls a LOT of gunk. It's an excellent solution for an all in one type set up in my opinion.

Is it the skimmer you have or the internal filter
