Tank leaking

I have seen a 180 gallon tank fully supported with 4 cinder blocks on each corner. There was nothing else, just 4 blocks on each corner.
it depends.... on how thick the silicone was injected... what kind.... and at 180 gal tank i can not imagine you do not have some middle support.... on your stand.... that's risky

A leaking tank would immediately be sold -- not worth the risk IMO. I do agree with the support comments, but at this point I'd sell it as a "reptile tank" and move on.

As mentioned you can find people who will re-seal the tanks, but that's a lot of risk, IMO -- and my contents and home to me are not worth the risk. I'd have to feel extremely confident in the work to do that and Iam not sure it's possible for me, personally.

There is another option. Cut out the sealing silicon and brace the bottom of the tank internally with 19mm glass 50-80mm wide all round. That will address the issue and stop it happening again. What I did when I had my tank remade as a precaution!

I would call the guy and tell him it leaks, worth a shot. Or ask to split the cost. He should have leak tested his work and also have it filled with water to show you. I agree with Ford Man, It will let loose on you down the road, it just too much water.

Sorry but i have to go... different time zone... work tomorrow... :))) hope you can figure it out, do not patch IT. And try to get some reiforcement in the midle of the stand.
Sell the tank as it is and buy new one, or get some1 who know's how to clean it and reseal it.
Good night all

I messaged him and said I had a question then he answered then I told him what’s up and no message back. He probably won’t answer.

I have a 125 might just use that. Not sure though. Might be too much work for me so might just get out and sell everthing

ups and downs never give up ,throw a couple of supports on that stand get 125 going quick like a cricket

best of luck sorry to hear

I hate to say it, but you've been scammed. For those new reefers looking for used tanks, if the seller says the tank was "re-sealed", RUN away! Unless it was done by a professional tank manufacturer, I would not trust it. IMO tanks are one of the least expensive parts of this hobby. It's just not worth cutting corners.

I have a whole setup for the 125 a better stand. I bought 3 new tangs hoping they would be fine in the new tank. Gonna have to see if this will work having 6 tangs in a 125

Are you sure this is true? The tank is rimmed so all the pressure is exerted on the four corners.
A tank with plastic trim all along the bottom exerts force all the way around, not just on the corners. It looks like this tank slightly hangs over the stand which is not recommended since all the weight is not spread evenly.

For what it’s worth, my 265g blew a seam and it was ugly. It was resealed from previous owner and was not told. But I have the glass (the tank itself) and I have the means to tear apart and reseal it. I’m pretty handy and have the room. Plus I have already completely rebuild a 265 my brother has been using it for almost a year. So if you wanna save some money and you like the tank dimensions and have the room. Rebuild and reseal that sucker.

I thought about it and I messaged you before about a 180 that I was going to build but I moved into an apartment and dont have the tools or room to rebuild this anymore. When I lived with my parents I had the room. I think I'm going to set up my old tank thats 125 gallons for the next year then when I finish college I'll upgrade when I get paid more than what I'm making right now.

I realized that when I was building the stand that I made it 1/2 inch short. i measured 72" for the wood cause thats what I thought the tank was. 6ft long but it was a little over 72". more like 72 1/2" so got screwed on that
