Tank not maturing?

Give it time, the maturing process is 10-12 months. +1 that's unhappy gsp. I'dbe adding more fish and corals myself.
I’ve had some suggestions about making that GSP happy, but do you have any yourself?

Since I didn’t even know it was GSP I wasn’t too worried, but I’d like to see if I can spring some life into it now.

You could get some snails at your lfs with coralline on them. Turn your flow off and rub the shell right on your dry rock to try spreading the coralline. Turn the flow back on after 20 min. This will allow the coralline spores settle a bit.

Most likely you will see coralline start to grow on anything plastic 1st. My tank is almost 2 years old and coralline is barely growing. Every tank is different....

I'm 14 months in and I seeded the tank with snails that were covered in coraline as well as a bottle of Magic Coraline Juice and nothing for 9 or ten months or so. I started paying attention to the big 3 Calcium, Alkalinity and Magnesium and started dosing AFR and bam, I have Coraline on the bare bottom, frags, and all my pumps.

Time, patience and watching and maintaining the Big 3.

Never tested for magnesium so I’ll have to start doing that! Is it supplemented in anything that I can dose?

Sorry, outside of maintaing alkalinity, calcium, magnesium and doing water changes I don't have anything specufic. It seems like ir was already in pretty bad shape when you got it so it might be a lost cause.

8 months in and I’m scraping it off the front glass almost daily. Never seeded it with anything, but a couple small pieces of live rock and snails had some on their shells.

I wouldn’t start dosing mag etc just to get coralline Algae, a tank will still mature just fine without it, you can check your mag lvl etc to make sure they are not low.

I believe ph plays a big part it coralline algae growth, so good surface movement and fresh air in the room will help with that.

Just keep an eye out when buying stuff, pick out the ones with the coralline on it.

Find a local reefer and scrape the algae from his glass, I brought home a 1/4 bag of the stuff, broke it up and dumped it in. Now weekly razor blade to clean it off and urchins that don't seem to want to touch it.
