I am thinking about getting a new return pump. I'm currently running a Simplicity 1600, and love the thing. However I am considering getting a manifold set up and feel that I will need quite a bit more flow for it, so I dont have to stuff my sump with small pumps to run everything. Are there any recommendations? I have heard mixed things about the Varios, but was looking at the Sicce SDC 9.0? Appreciate any advice! I currently have a 525XL.

I just had an Echotech die barely over a year old. I’ll probably never run a DC pump again. But I would recommend sicce. 5 year warranty. Makes a difference.

Personally I have a Varios 6 and have found the build quality to be excellent. The Sicce pumps are also a strong choice.

If you are happy with your current pump why not just add a second pump for your manifold.

Just feel like its a bit small for my system. I went from a Reefer 250 to a 525xl and kept it. I have it maxed out for my current needs, while it was only on 50% for my 250.. My plan was to replace it with a higher flow one, and keep the Simplicity as a backup incase anything ever happens to the new one.

Yea. I just had to use my mixing station pump in an emergency when my overprices vectra failed... and I thought.... why am I not just using something this reliable in my DT? I’m not an echotec fan anyway, but I do have radions. That will change though whenever I do another upgrade. I’ll get AI probably. That’s all besides the point. I’d just get the most reliable pump you can find instead of the most features. The sicce DC pump does seem to be the best of both worlds. But like I said. AC for me until I see first hand a DC unit hit several years. And I mean IRL, not on the internet.
