I am trying to thin out my reef due to a couple of colonies that have just grown too big! I have a Green sinularia that is the size of a volleyball with a 4" base and a birdsnest that is the size of a basketball. The problem I am having is getting rid of these things without giving them away. I don't want to toss them nor do I want to just give them away for nothing. How do you sell something at a fair price for the size of the colony? I have seen people give $80-$100 for a fragg the size of a dime that don't have a chance of surviving except in a perfect system. I was asking $150 for the sinularia and $100 for the birdsnest. I don't believe that I am asking too much because the last sinularia I had seen at LFS was $180 for one the size of a softball. Let me know what you think, am I asking a fair price?

Thanks,
Ernie

You'll never get the same price as what a LFS is asking. If you want to move the coral, find a local reef group and post to their forum. Tell people to come pick it up for $20-30 a frag. Only way you're going to move it quickly. That's capitalism for you, price sells.

Where are you located? Maybe we can work out something, not sure how to pm or I would have done that

i don't like to deal with all the window shoppers so I take mine to the local store where I have a good relationship and they give me a really good price for my stuff.
