Three tangs and a rabbit fish?

Tank specs in sig.

I have a Tommi tang now and id like to get a yellow tang and a blue hippo tang along with a scribble rabbit fish. Anyone done this? Whats the tang police going to say? What should i leave off? What should i substitute.

If this is a bad idea, i will get a fox face rabbit fish and skip the yellow tang, sorry guys im not as comfortable trying butterflies and dwarf angels as you all seem to be.

I know im breaking the foot rule with that hippo tang but should be ok with the tommi and yellow in a 60inch tank right?


How fast can these go in? I was planning one every 2 weeks.

Tank is 60inchs long, 18inches wide, 28inches tall. I have circulation thats at 60,000gph an hour and could easily make it 85,000gph an hour if anyone thinks the fish need it.

I think you should be fine a long as there are plenty of hiding stops for all the fish. I wouldn't add much more though.

If it were me I would add in this order.

1. Rabbit
2. Hippo
3. Yellow

200lbs of rock..i used large size base rocks which created lots of caves, tunnles and hiding spots.

Honestly not much more on my want list.... (some small fish).... There are two small clowns a chromis and a royal gramma in there along with the Tommie already.

I might add a blenny or goby or something and much much later on try my hand at a mandarin.

That's a lot of rock so you should be fine. The rabbits are big wusses as first and take a while to warm up. Also, the hippo will want some tight fitting spots to slide into anytime it's scared or sleeping. The yellow tang will probably end up ruling the tank.

Thanks, im still acclimating this Tomi tang...he hides every time anything in the room moves (including the cat), he wont eat anything i add to the tank but sneaks out and picks at the rocks every chance he gets. He ate pellets at the pet store like they were going out of style...he also hasnt touch the algea strips on the clips yet (believe it or not, the clown and chromis will finish off an algae strip in about 4 or 5 hours)....

Hopefully he is just acclimating and getting what he needs off the rocks...i am kinda wishing i had not bought those 5 turbo snails now (so he would have more algae to graze on). My tank is almost too clean right now....

Thanks for the advice, these are all fairly common, fairly inexpensive choices and its nice to know i can mix them a little without having to put in risky dwarf angels and butterflies to get the tank stocked.

Also, don't add them too fast. I would wait at least 1-2 months between each addition. There will be a lot of bioload added with those fish.
