Hi!

We are new to SW and when we set up our tank, we (stupidly) put it under the TV. We now want to move it over (maybe 10 feet). Any tips or tricks to make it easier or less stressful for the fish?

Nitrites: 0
Nitrates: 25
75 gallon tank
1 clownfish
2 cardinal fish
1 mandarin
1 tang
Various shrimp/crabs/ snails

80 lbs of sand

I have moved them by draining the majority of water into brutes or tubs, placed furniture sliders under the stand and simply slid it to it's new home. Not sure what kind of flooring you have but it was quite easy. Then place your water back in and your in business. :)

Thanks!

That was pretty much our plan. Take fish out... drain as much as possible and slide it. It is on carpet so hopefully won’t slide too hard.

Get the large ones from your big box stores, they slide with very little resistance. I have moved them on carpet and wood floors with no issues. You don't have to drain the entire tank, just enough where you can safely place the sliders under the stand.

Becareful if your scape isn't secured! We don't want to replace a tank. ;)

Good luck with your transfer, I moved our 170gal last night because we are putting in wood floors. About to do our 200gal reef in a few minutes, just gearing up for it now. But yes, brute can, pump, and sliders.. easy as 123. Drain half then its easier to catch your little friends.
Remember not to place it in sunlight in the new spot or you'll be moving again and careful with your scape.

Thanks! Good luck to you!
We are moving it farther away from the window.
