So, my tank is set up and I have the first two fish (clowns) added. The problem is that my AFS dumped way too many pellets in (probably from the jostling of being hung - I did a paper test first) the first go. Add the fact the fish are still not eating as much and I have a cluster of food in my tank - about 1.5 tsp.

Ammonia has been testing zero each day, but I am concerned about having the extra food in the system. It is a 150 gallon (180 total w/sump) and used Turbo Start.

Should I try cleaning some out or just trust that its slow decomposition will help fuel the bacteria?

I would siphon out the uneaten food. You might try adjusting the size of the hole in the autfeeder with a piece of duct tape. Most other tapes don't stick too well.
