My RO/DI water is stripped of everything. ALK is close to 0, no Calcium, no Mag, ......nothing.

Should I bring up parameters in my top off water? Or will that add too much?

Thanks

Top off water is replacing pure evaporated water and does not need anything added to it.

You can use it as a vehicle for adding things the tank needs, but matching the tank is not needed or desired. :)

Thanks Randy! But my concern is I'm adding water with ALK of 1. Will that not aid in lowering ALK in the tank? Could I bring ALK up to 8 in top off? I understand adding Calcium to top off my over dose tank.

Nope. You want to add zero alk pure fresh top off water, because that is what evaporated out.

When it evaporated the alk went up, and adding back zero alk water brings it back to exactly where it was.

You do not notice this because the effects are too small to see with a kit.
