So I'm going to be going from this this small 13.5 to a 50.3.
The new tank has been completely cycled Consistently showing 10-20ppm nitrates, zero ammonia or nitrates after daily doses of Dr. Tim's Ammonia Chloride.
My question is this, Do I move inverts such as hermit crabs and Anemones, corals et cetera first? Then fish? Also, about the live rock that is in the small aquarium. Should I transfer it even though I've had some issues with cyano because of waterflow in the smaller aquarium?
I'm sure I will have more questions buuut 1st things 1st. A water change to bring down the nitrates, correct?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!! I have a lot of high end zoa's, corals etc. that I'd like not to lose in this process! Tia for any suggestions

Congrats on the upgrade!

I would definitely move over all the rock, sand and anything with bacterial film. It will all help you get through the uglies much quicker.

You should probably rinse the sand. The bacteria will survive that okay.

All of our tanks have (or will soon have) a blend of all the good & bad bacteria, protists, microfauna etc. Even dinoflagellates and cyano. You will never avoid that. As long as you provide a healthy level of nutrient and stable parameters, the good bacteria and film algae will outcompete the bad ones. (Once you are past the uglies phase.)
