Hi,

What is this growth I’m seeing on my rock. First I thought it was some sort of coral tissue, but maybe not. It’s not fuzzy so don’t think it’s fungus. An elegance coral was once placed there and moved recently.

I see possible sponge but please add white light to photo

To be on the safe side I took the rock out and did some light scrubbing with a soft brush. In white light it was white almost transparent looking tissue. My hands were all wet and couldn’t take more photos.

No panic. I had time last night to be active so wanted to get rid of what ever it was.
Still looking for an answer so I did some image searching online.

Not my photo but it looked exactly like this.

White sponge is what this was labelled.

Is this stuff good or bad?

Never had this growing on my rock before and it's only growing in the one area. No where else.

Good sponge but can be evasive. Simply trim back if needed
