Upflow algae scrubbers

I’m thinking of getting a Santa Monica HOG1 for my biocube. My question is regarding ph. Has anyone that’s used a scrubber have a significant increase in ph?
I live in a apartment and unless it’s 70 degrees out the windows stay closed and a/c is on. Trying to see if it’s worth it for a ph increase. Thanks

good question I never really paid much attention to my PH when I was running an upflow ATS...

Make your own... it's pretty easy and SantaMonica actually posts all the plans for it..


This is what happens if you forget to clean it for a couple weeks...and apparently a ball of cheato made its way in there... and went nuts!!!!!!
Like 5 lbs of the stuff
