Hello All,
So I’ve had a 125 gallon up and running for a year now. I’ve always had crystal clear water up until I added new AI Prime HD lights on Christmas. It runs with a Marine land HOB filter that filters up to 100g, and a HOB Instant Ocean Skimmer that fits up to 125g. I have 5 tangs, 3 chromis, 2 clowns, blue faced angel, and a niger trigger. This was all lit with 2 kessel a80 lights. I had perfect water clarity with those lights and absolutely no problems since Christmas. Now, with these newer higher intensity lights, I believe they are showing me water as cloudy, and it must have always been, but it didn’t show since the kessels weren’t as high powered as the new AI Primes, so I’m guessing my water has always been cloudy (I hope this isn’t the case). Now with these new lights and the cloudiness really showing, I’ve added another Marineland filter up to 100 gallons, and nothing really seems to be doing the trick. So, now I believe the tank is filtering enough as quickly as possible, now I believe I need to start adding carbon. Which is the best carbon? How would I start to use it. If anyone believes the cloudiness can be resolved in any way, please let me know!
