Waterbox reef pro setup question

I've setup a 180.5 and I can't get the sump quiet. The water spilling out of the religion through the top slots, about 13 inch water level. Spills into skimmer chamber, I have that set to the height of the spill over to the pump chamber. So the difference is about 5 inches, causing a loud waterfall. Should I raise the water level in the skimmer area? Seems like the proper level is where I have it. Open to suggestions. Thanks in advance.

My WB 170 did the same thing when I set it up in March. I purchased this sponge at my LFS and placed it on the skimmer side to silence the waterfall. Works great, absolutely silent now.

Oh I just set it at the waterline and pulled the skimmer towards the front to hold the sponge in place.

I have this very problem on my Waterbox 170. After running this system for 7 months, I purchased a pipe cleaner. By cleaning the slots between the refugium and the skimmer chamber thoroughly, I was able to help this noise pretty well. Since the slots are a bit rough in their cut, they actually collect algae more quickly. I learned that the BRS160 had their sump custom built and the slots were laser cut to help avoid this problem.

I also use the pipe cleaner on the overflow and that keeps the water level in the aquarium from getting too high.
