I agree that likely didn't happen to you, but I'm seeing that posters 100% do not believe their tests can ever read wrong and they truly do sometimes. My only point was verifying that's all.

Having two separate kits to average is such a neat verified we never consider needed.

Now I get what you are saying. I'll order another alk kit to verify my Hanna is not reading wrong. Salifert alk is good I presume?

How about lfs counter test! I didn't mean to cause purchase-if your test was good that'll seem wasteful of me

even mailing a three mil water sample to a reef buddy in an api test tube taped up for five bucks shipping is a neat way to calibrate.

My fear is you spend $30 and get lucky and have an originally correct test~lfs test is cheapest imo.

Yeah that's true. I could possibly take it to a lfs. The one closest to me, I refuse to give them any kind of business. That and none of the employees would know how to test alk properly, guarantee it. I can try another one about twenty minutes from me.
