Can you zoom in on this?

I'd have to agree, looks like cyanobacteria. I usually try to get rid of it as fast as possible so it doesnt spread or cover my corals. I use the red slime remover or green slime remover based on what color it is [emoji16]

Trying to post a vid. But I can't figure out how to.

My tank is 7 months old. I know I have red Cyano. It was on my rocks and I did one dose of Chemiclean, most of it is gone. My problem is the cobweb stuff on the substrate. I can pick it up with my little brush and gravel will stick to it. The webs come back within minutes it seems. When I do a water change a snot looking stuff gets sucked up my siphon sorta looks like clear liquid glue.. I know this is not good.

What salt are you using?
Bio pellets or nopox ?

Fritz Reef Pro... No bio pellets...Only thing in my media rack is Rox 0.8 carbon. Yes I used nopox daily. I stopped using it when my problems started. My problem is, I'm not sure how to treat it. Less feed, more feed...less water changes, more water changes. It all depends on this and that... Wish I knew what I was fighting. My setup is a Red Sea Max E-260.

Do nothing.

(Hard I know )

Nopox is bacteria food. It’ll get used up in the system and both should fade as they are not getting directly fed.

Keep blowing off the cyano and it should fade out.

No water changes? What about the cobwebs on the gravel? What about lights?

I told you it was hard.

Just do what you normally do (minus the direct bacteria food )and it will likely go away.

Normal stuff it blow it off to keep it from making mats , double check The flow in those spots etc.

Looks like cyano. I had same problem in same E260 been running since May18. I have gotten rid of it completely over a few months. I have a large bio load i didn’t change anything with my feeding besides cut down on selcom. Lighting stayed same also. I would siphon it out when I did a 15-20g water change every 2 weeks, come back over few hours. I also use Fritz rpm pro. I just held out for a few months and dealt with the ugliness and it’s gone away for now.. Dustin

I have done 10g once a week since the beginning. Is that to soon? Should I go 2 weeks? If you don't mind me asking, what are your lights set on and for how long. I assume you have the Hydra 26's

It’s not the lights.

Base your water changes on you cal and alk usage (like dosing) and nutrient levels. Low nutrients, good cal alk = less water changes.

I have my lights set on about 11hrs on 80% of the AB+ ramp up 1hr30min. I do the 15-20g water change every 2 weeks just for the fact that’s what I’ve done since the beginning, just stick to what works for me and patience.
