what is this fish?

these were identified by a LFS worker as Vanderbilt chromis i am not seeing them depicted. Ideas? thanks!

Yes the ones from the LFS have their colors faded i'm not really an expert on chromis but I do believe that this is a black and gold chromis.

This is called a Behn’s Damsel, not a real Chromis. Attractive as juveniles but become a lot more dull once mature, plus aggressive even for damsels. I would recommend something in the Chrysiptera family or some Pomacentrus.

Azure, Talbot’s, Rolland’s, Starcki’s, Yellowtails, true and false Springer’s. Starcki, Yellowtail are a but more aggressive than the others though not the worst.

The Neon complex of Pomacentrus have some pretty ones. Some people have also had luck with the Lemons.

thanks for your reply. I told him i would have to ask my green Chromis' if they would be happy sharing the tank, i guess the answer is NO!

Neoglyphidodon nigroris. Someone once told me a good rule of thumb is to stay away from any damsel with 'glyphidodon' in it. Stay away from Dascyllus genus too.
