does anyone know what the heck is this thing growing on my zoas

How can i get rid of it? Will it kill the zoa? Will it cover it completely?

If it’s a sponge you can just pick it off with your fingers or something like a toothpick. That don’t kill things but they can grow large enough to smother out corals.
