A more recent post had the interesting approach that maybe getting rid of Dino’s is not working and focussed more on overall tank balance and stability.
What I am trying to say is: go with the blackout. There is no, if any downside. You may even dose 3% peroxide during. But sadly be prepared that Dino’s could return. So the blackout could solve your problems or move you forward only.
Agree- blackout is the way to go. That was what I did a year ago and Dino Never returned.

If your nitrates are already low absolutely do not do a water change until you beat these things. From experience water changes during a dino outbreak absolutely exacerbates the situation. Dinos thrive in a low nutrient environment and while you're fighting them chemically you have to focus on making an environment more inviting to biodiversity. The biodiversity will help out compete the dinos. You do this by elevating nitrates and phosphates, and as others have already stated UV and peroxide. You can also use bleach in small amounts instead of peroxide. Good luck and keep pushing forward. You will win.

So I just dosed 8ml hydrogen peroxide and wrapped the tank in black plastic 3 days and fingers crossed

I'm having a similar problem. Do you guys think it might be the same -- dinos?
Phosphate 0, Nitrate 0 -- I know that's likely part of the problem, but I misunderstood and thought 0's were the goal. I've been feeding more over the past week, but levels haven't come up. I was doing 25% water changes 2-3 times a week so that I could siphon it off the gravel but it comes back immediately, so I'm backing that down to 25% once a week. I tried chemiclean twice -- once in powder form and once in liquid form -- did nothing. I did a 3 day blackout which seemed to help a lot, but it came back within a week. I even tried raising the temp to 82 degrees because I read that worked for someone on here. I just bought a 24Watt UV but haven't put it in yet. (I have a waterbox 20 cube).
Any advice?
PS I'm new to R2R and was unsure of the etiquette -- is it cool that I posted here or should I have started my own?

So I just unwrapped the tank after 3 day blackout. I'm gonna continue the peroxide for a few more days. All the dino seems to have disappeared!

So it's almost 5 days since I opened the tank from blackout.... have used up all my microbacter did another dose of peroxide. And we'll I'm seeing bubbles again now what?

Wow- really blacked out. It does work.

Did you blow the dino loose daily and clean filters daily?
I assume you fed no coral foods to coral ?

The filter socks were changed daily yes. Uv was run and before blackout I siphoned all of them off the rocks and sand.

When I did black out I mean blackout lol I had all the sides including the top wrapped in plastic lol no light was getting in lol

So I'm trying the rise temp trick currently tank is at 78.8 per apex. I'm still dosing peroxide. I HATE DINO

I posted my experienced with the dino and how i was successful. Read what happened in my post. Stay away from vibrant. That stuff is to powerful and it will kill all competing algea and will give ciano and dino a place where they can progress without any fight from other algae. Partial water change will also not help once yiu have dino. It will just take away competing algae out of the playing field. I would wait until you are done with the dinos before water change. Good fortune to you. This is all base on my personal.
Keep safe and good reefing.
