This coral is in pretty strong flow. The newest growth is a much lighter color.

I have the same thing happening with my green slimmer. The new branches are very light green. I was thinking it was because the new branches are closer to my halides.
 
WOW honestly I have the same thing happening to a pink and blue mili. The first time i noticed the new growth I thought it was the start of a recession...
 
New growth in sps usually looks like that....it is kind of like a growth spurt. It will change darker when it becomes more established and the "new growth" gets new growth.
 
Yeah I agree... sps' new growth is usually a different color.

Hence the purple rim monti, blue tip so and so ... It's really just the new growth that gives the coral it's attractivness.

That being said ... good luck with the peice and it looks really good.
 
I can account for that as well. Most new growth is lighter in coloration and becomes darker or richer in color with age and more growth. Looks good!
