Looks like it could by a cyphastrea.

It was connected to the bottom of a birds nest so that's a possibility it could of been getting stung a lot, seems to be making a comeback, wasn't sure I was thinking it might of been a chalice

I'm no expert, but I have a few cyphastreas and it looks like one to me.
It should recover as long as nothing else is stinging it. I see the burned parts, what color is the body and polyps?

Well origanally bronze and orange polyps but it's seems to be slowly changing color to more of a yellow or green color and polyps still orange
