I have deltec stirrer in past to dose kalk in my reef tank ...now looking to buy again for my 300 gln system....

i have been using the avast kalk stirrer for over a year now and i like it very much i had the PM Kalk reactor before

Can't beat the Avast products. It's simple and will never fail since the pump is mounted above the Kalk, and just stirs the mixture.

How can these be used to keep rock solid cal/alk on high demand sps tank?? My understanding of them is they r hooked up too ato so when ato turns on goes through stirrer which stirs up kalk thats then added to tank ??
What if ur cal alk demand outweighs that of ur evaporation? Evaporation also varies depending on temp !
Basicly I'm asking how can u control a kalk stirre with more percision can they be used as sole sorce of cal and alk in a full blown sps reef?
Can they be run on digital timer?

I was adding kalk to my ato and was very happy with results but my demand started to climb above what my ato could keep up with so I had to start adding 2 part also at that point I decided to keep it simple just add 2 part cut the kalk but I'm thinking going back to kalk if I can because it kept cal alk right where I wanted and 2 part is expensive

Your thinking of the 2 LF Kalk reactor that stirs the kalk as it is fed with water. With kalk reactors designed like ours with a pump, you can hook a timer or a controller to it and then be able to control the mixing rate. What I tell people is that if you demand outweighs your evaporation rate then you need to use something else like a calcium reactor to keep up with demand. Most people, including myself, use a Calcium reactor for the majority of the demand, and also a Kalk reactor to compensate PH fluctuations. It all really depends on your demand. But to answer your questions about the Kalk reactor, yes you can control the saturation rate with the pump interval. :D
