I have a 60g cube tank (2ft x 2ft) that I am currently working on and am wondering which light setup you would use. Whichever one isn't chosen will be going onto a frag tank. Planning on a mixed reef tank with a primary focus on sps. Due to the setup of the canopy, with the kessils I can get away with running a single t5ho bulb down the center and still get relatively even light distribution. With the radion I would have to run the t5ho bulbs on either side of the radion.

Setup 1: 2x Kessil a360 WE and 1x t5ho

Setup 2: 1x Gen 2 Radion xr30 and 2x t5ho

Setup 3: ?? Open to suggestions. I currently have the kessils and radion and both are lightly used so don't necessarily want to drop the money on a whole new LED fixture.

I want to supplement with flourescent lighting because i'm really not a huge fan of the shading that happens with LEDs but I enjoy the shimmer. I do have a PAR meter to make sure things don't get too out of hand. I also expect either light option would be a bit of overkill so would end up turning the LEDs down a fair bit.

Would go with setup #1. I think you’ll have more coverage that way and it will spread evenly. With 1 Radion it might seem like you have a dead spot.

For a 2ft by 2 ft, the xr30 should provide plenty of coverage. I’d lean towards that for the controllability, but ultimately either should work.
