I just found today my powder tang has white spot disease I have managed to catch it and move to quarantine. The question is: do i need to do anything to my display tank to prevent spreading. Non of my other fish have any signs of white spot. Should i treat my DT with anything, taking that white spot on my tang just started today? Thanks in advance for any help.

All of the fish that shared a tank with the tang need treated.

Some fish are more resistant. They may not show symptoms, but still have an affliction in the gills. Then when the tang is introduced back into the tank it would just be reinfected.

Best course of action is move all fish to QT and treat for ich while DT is fallow for 76 days.

Thanks for your answer. How about other tank inhabitants like snails, brittle star, decorator crab and hermits?

What are you planning to treat the infected fish with? Extreme caution and research is in order if you plan to treat with copper.

Was thinking of cupramine but still researching. I know i would need tests to dose copper. Will visit LFS tomorrow and see what i can get.
