So, I took out an old Eshopps sump and added it to a tank that previously only had a HOB filter.
Rated to handle tanks up to 75 gallons, I've set it up with filter media on one side and on the other side, the return pump and protein skimmer.
Below the filter pads is an empty area for bio media (bio balls). But in this area, I typically use live rock.
Since this particular setup has ample live rock within the tank itself, I've decided to try putting Chato in the area. The problem is that it isn't completely submerged below the water line.
After going through the filter media and drip pad, the water rains down on the chato. I provide light from the side.
I've included a pic. Tell me... do you think this will work or does the chato need to be completely submerged?
