Worm on zoa?

I just picked up this little zoa frag 2 days ago. I did drip acclimation, followed by a dip with KoralMD for about 10 minutes, used a turkey baster to squirt off any pests, then added to my tank. The zoa has been doing great, all four polyps opened completely by the next morning. I had noticed this little dark tube that looked empty since the moment I put it in my tank, but figured whatever was living in there was probably killed with the KoralMD. Today, I noticed a little white thing beginning to poke itself through the tube. Any ideas on what it could be?

It is a pest snail. The name has slipped my mind currently. You can pop it off the drag or you can cover it with superglue. That's the method I prefer because last time I tried to pop one off, I broke a nail.

Yep, I looked those up and that’s definitely what it is! Would it be less of a headache if I just took this zoa back and exchanged it for a different one? I feel like even after I superglue it, it still has the ability to spread throughout my tank, right?

Ok, I decided to actually just remove it completely with tweezers. While I was doing that, I noticed another one kind of buried underneath one of the polyps. It was too hard to remove with the tweezers, so I covered it with glue. Hopefully this controls it so they won’t spread!

Look up and read about Bayer to dip your corals. Since you already are doing a dipping process, you could just add another step. I am pretty sure a Bayer dip would have taken care of this little guy. Since I started using Bayer to dip mine, I haven't had any unexpected pests/guests that overstay their welcome. That's a nice zoa btw!

They are in every tank and are filter feeders. Definitely not something to sell the farm because. Superglue them shut or physical remove them. No big deal.
